sound problems!

    my music on my computer will play for a little while and then it will just cut off out of nowhere.when i restart the computer my music will still play.but when its like halfway thru the song the sound would cut off again.It also happens when i insert cd's in my computer and try 2 play music from them.I really dont know whats wrong with my sound.I scan for viruses using Norton and it found none.can somebody please help me figure out whats wrong with my sound?i tied reinstalling my audio devices and that didnt work at all.somebody please help me with my problem.

    Both? Have you disabled the onboard soundcard if you use a pci one?
