I'm looking for a freeware program that I can take the raw .wav files we record with my band, and do some post processing to them. I'm not looking for something complex like protools , just something that I can take the raw file, and maybe adjust EQ levels, noise reduction, things like that. We have a cheapo digital tascam recorder that produces .wav files, and I want to be able to merge sound clips and just generally give these tracks a more finished sound, as opposed to the straight raw garage sound we are getting straight from the recorder . I do have cyberlink wave editor, which is part of cyberlink power director 9, and it does a bit of what I want, but I'm looking for anything else I could possibly use. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Maybe Audacity will fit your needs.

Looks like audacity will fit the bill. A little complicated, but nothing I cant get the hang of with a little practice. 'Preciate it.
