sound recorder!

hey all i wanna try to mix 2 songs together and i am using the sound recorder that comes with windows but it can only record a minute of sounds this is no good i need more time!

is there any ther program that i can use to do this or can i adjust the amount of recording time on the sound recorder?

i have tried to make it record longer but i can;t fgure it out any suggestions or comments would be great thanks all!

 

Hi:

1. Open Sound Recorder (Start >All Programs >Accessories >Entertainment >Sound Recorder)
2. Without any input signal, simply hit record button and save resulting 60 sec blank file as "blank.wav" (File >Save as … >blank.wav >Save)
3. Open new wav file
4. Use the edit->insert function with the blank.wav file as many times as the minutes you want to record total
5. Save resulting file with desired name

Audacity, as CP recommended, will record as long a clip as you want, without pasting and inserting. Also, it is freeware, in case you were unaware.

 

hey all i took your advice and downloaded audacity but i can't seem to work it properly

i think you need to imput wav files into it and what im using it for is mp3

but i talked to a guy at work and he said to try soundforge? or something along those lings have any of you heard of it?

if so does it do mp3 editing and mixing?
