Soundblaster 5.1 back rear speakers don't work

Hi, I have a Creative Soundblaster Live! 5.1 digital sound card and Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers. The Soundcard is OEM so didn't come with any drivers or software and it seems if your card is OEM it's not supported by Creative so I can't get any drivers from thier website (when I try to install the driver it says 'no soundblaster card was found on this system'). I did manage to open the driver's directory and install it manually. The problem i'm having is that, while the front two speakers, center and sub all work fine, the back two speakers play through the front two speakers. I didn't realise this until i downloaded a 6 channel test. This seems to be a common problem but the fix is to download the lastest driver from creative, which i can't!
Anyone know of a fix?

 

If you can't get it from their site, you can try the NGO modded drivers for the sblive and see if that works.

Just as an addition, are you sure you have your speakers set up to 5.1? You can check by going to control panel, then sounds/multimedia. Find the speakers portion and ensure it is indeed set to 5.1 and not something else.

 

Hi, I tried the modded driver but it still dosn't play through the rear speakers. I tried changing from 5.1 suroundsound to regular surroundsound and back in control panel\sounds, still no rear audio. Thanks for the help though

 

This might be late to ask, but are you sure the plugs are fully seated, and in the right jacks on the back of the card?
