Soundcard!

I currently have sound that came with my abit fatal1ty an8 motherboard.
It's not very good and i want a soundcard that would improve my gaming experience/gameplay but without spending lots of money! likethe fatality sound blaster!

Wot soundcards do you guys use?

 

i use an audigy 2. what speaker setup are u using? 2, 5.1, 2.1, 7.1 etc

 

ive just got 2 little speakers and one bass box thing!

£30quid from argos afaik!

Not bad tho and they can go loud

 

Would the audigy 4 or sound blaster x-fi be any good?

 

I'm not gamer, but here's very inexpensive card that's I've been using for about a year: CHAINTECH AV-512 Sound Card - Retail; only about $14.50 including shipping.

As a gamer who wanted to budget his soundcard I chose the Creative Audigy 2 ZS, i have not been dissapointed at all. It sounds great in my 5.1 surround sound system (on cheap speakers no less) and can be found <100. Newegg is a great place to shop, buy it OEM and save your self some green. Im saving up for an XF-I, however, not due to the sound, but for the +FPS.

 

in my opinion, the limiting component of a sound system is the speakers rather than the sound card. i'm still using creative live value and after briefly having plugged in different speaker systems (e.g. logitech, altec, creative, be it 2.1, 4.1, 5.1, etc) i'm inclined to say spend more $ to invest in a better speaker system, than extra $200 on xi-fi card.
