Soundmax Integrated Audio driver installation problem

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A10-S177 model laptop (WinXP Pro) and have been facing problems with my sound card..SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio. I downloaded the appropriate driver for my model from the Toshiba website. However, I am unable to complete installation of the driver. I encounter the following error during installation..

"There was a problem installing this hardware:
SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio
An error occured during installation of the device
The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request."

I would really appreciate any help to solve this problem.
