sounds like it is restarting??

I am running a pc w/win2k, dual hard drives and this am every 4 minutes and 51 seconds it sounds like my pc is trying to restart. the screen is not effected but then I can sit there and time it for the next restart. is one of my hard drives going out? it has p4 cpu , 512 mb ram and 2 60 gb wd drives.

 

For clairification, the system does not actually restart, the hard drive starts cranking and making sound?

 

no it actually doesn't restart and it stopped, but it made the sound as if it was turning on. It was odd. I switched to the Kerio firewall and my router is password protected. I have a very controversial blog online and I am a bit paranoid that I am being hacked. It was weird because it occured like clockwork every 4 minutes and 51 seconds. I am running AntiVir, spybot, adaware, spyware guard and spyware blaster, kerio and my windows update is current. All of my updates are current.

 

Did you look at the system processes and see if something kept starting at the same time the sound started? Also, if you are that worried about being hacked and your blog is that controversial, drop some $$ on a hardware firewall. That'll stop any kiddie hacker.
