I have Sygate Personal Firewall and decided to do a security check. I've done many in the past and always corrected any problems.

This time I got a report that Web 80 and Source Port 4369 were closed. I searched and found that for my IE to read or connect to the 'net I need Web 80 to remain unblocked. I couldn't understand anything I found on Source Port 4369.

My questions are, is Web 80 supposed to remain unblocked and what is this Source Port 4369?

If I need to have these blocked, can you please tell me how because it seems as if I have to be a programmer or have access to Bill Gates to understand all this!

    Thanks in advance. :)

Please see this thread for a discussion on how to close ports.

You are correct about port 80. It is used for HTTP (or internet website) traffic. (notice the http:// before www.majorgeeks.com, for example)

This link shows information about port 4369. Doesn't seem to do a heck of alot. So long as no process is using it, it should remain closed. use 'netstat -ano' at the command line to see if it is open.
