SP2 RC2 Issues on XP Home

I'm trying to download the Service Pack 2, Release Canddiate 2 for my Windows XP Home. When I go thru windows update, it locks up at 1.60 meg out of 100 meg. I tried downloading the file, but that is only if the SP2 was to be used on multiple computers and well it did not work.

Any suggestions?

I'm runnin XP Home and I think that's all thats necessary

SP2 is currently a beta release candidate. Considering this, it's not very easy to troubleshoot.

Aside from that, we have no way of knowing if you are part of the beta testers group and as such, I must close this thread.

same thing as you said earlier Kodo... its Beta and should be treated as such... many differnet systems will experience different faults... thats why the Beta phase is longwinded..... RC2 is only half way to the gold final version and that could be any time in 3-6 montsh so any number of flaws could be solved.

If you are part of the Beta program then you should follow the reporting procedure, if you are not part of the beta progeam then you should NEVER install a beta version on a non test PC or one that you cannot afford to have crash.

I hope you have followed all instruction from MS on installing........
