SP2 rebooting fixed

I had some trouble after installing winsp2 rc2 see http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36420&highlight=sp2

But I found the answer to most of my problems and just wanted to pass it along in case it might help someone else. If you go to system properties then advanced then performance settings you will find DEP.

"Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) that helps protect your computer against damage from viruses and other security threats. These types of threats attempt to run from protected memory locations in your computer that only Windows and other programs that you have installed should use. "

After adding several programs to the safe list it works good(so far) for me now.
Anyone else had problems with DEP yet or is it just me?

 

none so far.. I also hear a new RC is out for SP2..

 

SP2 is great, the popup blocker in IE is dominant.

So far so good here, SP2 seems rock solid, im going to try and download 2162 tonight
