"Possibly, it is related to computers with the Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard in them," he said.

How can OEMS using a bog standard image for all build PCs be Microsoft problem, yes granted they should have maybe forecast this happening but a mammoth task would be to test on all configs, much of the blame is in the hands or 3rd parties in many cases. Kinda wouldnt expect an AMD based PC to have Intel driver files installed!

XP SP3 is getting more negativity than Vista of late, but really the smaller groupings that have install issues overshadows the amount who have no issues, but negative press sells.

Hehe, true enough Halo! Jeez man, it is strange that ACPI issues arose with this, what I call, a basic rollup. No problems here on my AMD ASUS A8N-E.

Come to think of it, we did have a similar problem with an ASUS M2N-E SLI with an Athlon dual core, and an XP X64 Pro OS. I've been reinstalling the OS, and haven't hit the point of getting updates yet.
