    Hi,
We have kind of an old computer. We've been putting everything on the F drive. It is my understanding that I need 10 GB of free space to successfully burn a DVD. I want to download dVD Shrink to F drive, but will it work from that drive, or make the temporary file (or whatever) on the C drive? We only have 4 GB free space on there.
i hope I worded this well enough.
    Thank you.

You will need about twice the space as the size of the movie....
It doesnt really matter what partition or drive except you cant split a file across two drives or partitons

Buy another HDD, inexpensive these days..

an older pc may tend to be slow at coping dvds

I agree 100% with the above comments. An older PC may take over 3 hours to convert/rip/burn a single full DVD movie. And, yes, you need AT LEAST 10gb per movie for the process, be sure to delete all the files when the process is done. In DVDshrink, there should be settings that allow you to 'point' it to whatever drive you want....

(hard drives truly are very inexpensive now: 1tb is about $80 or less, 500gb is about $55, but if the PC is older, you may be required to use an IDE/PATA drive and most newer cheaper drives are SATA, and drives over 320gb in IDE/PATA configuration can be hard to find sometimes; you could always buy an external drive and use that via a USB port, but if the old PC does not have USB2.0, you'll be looking at additional delays)
