Spacesniffer, This is GREAT! I'm now looking for win98 ver.:clap

After reading some posts, I downloaded it for our xp and could not believe the speed and ease of use!

My problem was I was deleting multiple files and my C percentage didn't go down so I found my problem with spacesniffer, even after I deleted them they were still on the system, some deep in the restore area.

My son was more impressed with it then I was, soon after messing around with it he decided to sign up as a member to learn more.

After all that now the ?. Does anyone know of something similar for win98?

WinDirStat is very similar. It has some advantages because you can right-click a file and select Explore Here which opens the folder holding the file. [A feature I wish Space Sniffer included]

The disadvantages are it doesn't show hidden files unless you have them set to show in Windows itself. But this is only necessary if rare instances anyway. And it doesn't label the files but shows the name when moused over. So it still helps you see which files are taking the most space but it doesn't give you quite as much information at first glance.

Definitely worth a look. I had used it for years but switched to SpaceSniffer just because S/N was a self contained executable. Hence, one less program installed.

Nobody wants to support win98 much anymore, but it works fine for me to check email and surf while the kids are playing on this one, as long as I can keep them running!:-D

One thing about being out of a job, I was able to find sites like this that actually try to help someone without putting them down!:celebrate
