I recently had two e mails returned, undelivered. Hotmail added some obscure information that reported me as being identified as distributing spam. The e mails were identical copies of one that I had received the day before. How do I handle this false accusation?

    Hi Ken

This could be just a hiccup in the Hotmail system so I would contact them to say you have recieved this notice that you are spamming when you are not, BTW your not using your Hotmail account to send bulk emails to multiple CCs are you? or have your Vacation setting on to auto reply, do not delete the emails you recieved back as they may ask for the header info.

Another cause of this is malware on your PC, and best way to rule this out is to run our malware guide here >>>> READ & RUN ME FIRST. I used to work for an ISP with this problem. What happened is that hotmail had blacklisted our server as a provider of spam. They did this without reason and refused to listen to our complaints. I am afraid the only solution we found was to switch to gmail.

Thank to both Halo and Senlis for their kind assistance. I am in the happy position where I rarely receive spam, and certainly would never consider disseminating it. I don't use hotmail myself, but the two recipients do. I have since sent a couple of e-mails to the same people without any problems. Thank you again.

I've seen "undeliverable mail" that comes back to my email account, and I know I didn't send them...my guess is someone's just using random emails to put in the "from" field.
