Speaker Echo!!!!!

i recently attempted to use a video/voice conversation with windows messenger, and it "installed" my mic, but after i did this, my mic was not plugged in, and i started noticing that my speakers where echoing. At first i tried the connection, the connection is fine. so then i thought it might be my speakers, so i plugged in my nomad jukebox, it worked fine. I dont know wtf to do. I tried screwing around in my sound settings but nothing i did worked...please help its SOO ANNOYING!!!!!!!! thank you.

 

Ummm... ok thats really weird. Echo as in with a significant time delay? I dunno what it could be if the mic was unplugged.... but it could be the "echo canceling" feature in MSN. Does it do this when msn isnt open? Have you tried running the Audio\video wizard again and see if you can turn off echo canceling or say you are using headphones for the time being, and see if the problem dissapears.

Other than that, MSN might be using your speakers as a mic and they are picking themselves up :S now THAT would be confusing.

 

What is the soundcard you are using Zero?

 

ahh its some motherboard peice of crap i knew i forgot to mention something...hold on its a.....SiS 7018 Wave...its an onboard sound card...i would rather have a SB Audigy, but dont have the funds...grrrrr. I also tried saying i was using headfones in MSN messenger, but that didnt fix anything, and yes it does echo as in it sounds if it is far away..gah! imma uninstall the soundcard and see if THAT works..hmph.
