Speakers not working and Firefox problem

I have a Windows XP ST3 Dell computer. I just got out of the Malware forum and was told to come here. My speakers are not working and firefox loads like hotmail but it will not allow me to open my emails or delete them or go to my junk folder. Also some other websites are not loading correctly. I have a Philips brand speaker from Walmart it came with a subwoofer and I cant find the software it came with to reinstall it.

 

what model is the speaker system. Maybe I can point you to the Philips website to download the software to get your speakers working.

No idea on the other issue.

For the Firefox issue, try deleting the cache.

Go to the menu bar at the top and click Tools. Select Clear Recent History, and make sure that only Cache is checked. Close Firefox and restart it.

 

I tried clearing the cache and it still doesn't work.

If cipher's suggestion doesn't pan out, this is possibly a problem with your Hotmail account and not necessarily a Firefox problem. Have you tried accessing your Hotmail account from another computer and/or another browser?

Also, I think it's extremely rare for a set of passive speakers to require installation software. Have you tried plugging the speakers into another computer to verify that they do indeed work? Have you tried another set of speakers or headphones in your machine to verify that your sound card or onboard sound is working?

 

I found out how to change the problem. But still no sound from speakers. I tried updating driver"but Iam newbie" and think I messed it up. I have no disc for computer or speakers. so any more options? directions?

 

Got the firefox/site problem fix. But still no idea on sound/speakers? I tried the driver.. but I think Iam to newbie to understand and probably messed it up. Any more help to getting sound/speakers working?

Install

window is still open, close it.
6.Click the Start button and then click Run.
7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\r94481 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
