Speakers

I was listening to some music yesterday and found out something weird. I've got two speakers and a subwoofer hooked up to my computer, but only one speaker is producing sound, the one on my left. iTunes does it, Winamp does it, and those are the only media players I've got. Then I tried my iPod, and both speakers are producing sound. Anyone got any solutions? I'm pretty sure it's my computer. The volume knob is at center, and everything should be normal. Thanks for your time.

 

Go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Advanced Button at the bottom > check to see if it's selected the speaker setup you have?

 

Yeh, it's selected and all. Knobs are in right place.

 

This may seem simplistic, but have you pulled each jack out and then re-inserted them. They run on such low voltage and current that even cigarette smoke can interfere with the connection. Make sure they're pressed in all the way. The left channel engages first, but the right channel is further up the jack so needs full insertion.

 

Hahaha, actually, yeah I just tried that, and it worked. Thanks, next time I'll try that before I try anything else.
