Speakers

I have a DeskTop PC and it Runs Win7.

It is in my Bedroom and I want to Pick some Speakers for it.

How many Watts should I look for?

I will not be doing Surround Sound and they will not be going into my Livingroom.

 

When it comes to speakers, watts means very little. Its all about the efficiency of the speakers, the frequency range of the speakers, the distortion in the amps, and the distortion of the speakers across that frequency range.

Watts does NOT automatically equate to loudness - contrary to what many want us to believe.

I am going to assume you will be looking at 2.1 speaker systems. 2.1 means there will be 2 satellite speakers for left and right channels which typically sit next to your monitor, and 1 sub-woofer that sits on the floor. The sub-woofer will house the electronics (pre-amplifiers and amplifiers).

This size of the subwoofer typically does not matter. But since desktop real estate may be limited, the size of the satellites might.

You need to set a budget then determine the physical size of your satellites. Then shop around.

Use Bing Google and search for "best computer speakers under [$budget limit]".
