Speech To Text

How difficult is it to design a programme that will allow me to dictate to my PC and have it type the speech into Publisher, Word, or Notebook? I know of one programme which costs, are there any free ones around? If I was younger I'd have a go myself, but computer technology not one of my strong points !

Hi what exact Operating System and Service pack, if any, do you have? eg Windows XP SP3, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10?

G'day Max, I have Win 10, AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.40 GHZ CPU with 12 GB RAM.

 

You can use a program such as the one suggested by Eldon but in Windows 10 you can do it directly:
