Speed up Outlook Express 6.00.2800?

Hi all,

Has anyone got some tips on how to speed up OE6? It used to open up quick-smart but now takes approx. 10-15 secs to open the first message of the day. Subsequent messages are no problem though.

I've compacted the mailboxes and even done a de-frag and cleanup but OE6 persists on doing a "valium" act!

Running XP Home SR1 on an AMD Athlon laptop.

Any help & tips greatly appreciated!

oddly enough, i think i saw an article about speeding it up in the latest cpu magazine. let me go check.

Speaking of Messenger6, how do you seperate it from OE6 or are they tied in together? Thanks for the tips!
