speeded up audio

any audio from my computer is speeded up....audio cd put in and even audio from you tube videos (the video is good )...win xp and i dl tweak and mega pak for codec..still the same......gary

 

What software application(s) are you using to listen to audio with? If just one, have you tried another to see if it does the same?

I don't use Windows Media Player very often anymore, but if I remember correctly there's a setting in there where you can adjust the speed of all audio playback. If you're playing all these media files (and CDs) through Windows Media Player and they all play back too fast, then this setting has probably been increased from 1x to a higher value. Lev's suggestion of trying a different media player is a good one. Many good, free players can be found here at Major Geeks.
