speedfan 4.29 help please

on this program its got the following for example

temp1:32c
temp2:70c
temp3:34c
hd0: 30c
temp1:30c

can anyone tell me what temp2 is in relation to as mine is on fire it peaks from 17c to 70c to i have a faulty fan or what and if so which fan is it???

Judging by the height of Temp2, it is probably your CPU temperature. It's normal for it to spike like that, especially if you have an AMD.

how can i cool the cpu down ive not upgraded the cpu and the fan works i dont understand why its suddenly getting so hot

 

It mostly depends on your model of CPU, but also on cooling system and case size. My CPU, an Athlon XP 3000+, can get as hot as 85°C without damage. It has however never reached that temperature (typically around 54°C).

 

my cpu is a celeron 2.4 which has never changed, my case size is a mini atx which has never changed im confused

 

Take a vacuum cleaner and clean out all your fans. High CPU temp can be caused by dusty fans. Be sure not to set your vacuum cleaner at full power, if you have that option. Also hold the fan while cleaning it, so it will not start to spin.

 

i clean it on a regular basis so thats not the problem i am using a fan at the mo with the side of the case off and that seems to be helping
