spell checker for O.E. 2.1

Hi all.
Have installed, spell checker for OE 2.1,i.e. version 2.1 of the spell checker for O.E. ,(no 32 bit program with a spell checker)and have also
installed the British English dictionary.
Have ticked always check before sending in tools =>options
=>spelling ,however although new posts to news groups and e-mails are spell
checked replies to news groups are not .Have I done something wrong or is
this normal,not a major problem but I would like to do things "right".
