Spellcheck in Outlook Express

I'm using Windows XP
and Word 2000:
Every time I click Send on an e-mail, messages start
popping up wanting to install Microsoft Picture It! (a
program that is already installed on my computer). There
are 3 messages, and they recycle 3 or 4 times, me clicking
Cancel at every appearance, then finally the
message "Spellcheck was halted. Do you want to
send....etc." Spellcheck works just as it should in Word.

I have checked out all the solutions suggested on the Microsft
site: checked MS KB 224176,trailing backslash is right
where it should be; Csapi3t1.dll file is fine;

I hope that someone has a solution for me

Im not familiar with this problem, so I can only offer what I would do. Let it install it. Its possible another program changed the file extensions in the registry so that Picture It is no longer associated, yet still being called.

Just a thought.

Spellcheck

Thank you. That solved the problem. Since nobody else came up with any suggestions, I went along with the installation in spite of concerns with ending up with 2 copies of the program. The Spellcheck now works as it should and I still only have only one application of the "Picture It!".

For future reference, usually reinstalling most programs is harmless. They basically overwrite all files, assuming you install to the same location, I have seen few to no programs add a second total program, but it has happened to me installing a new version of a program before uninstalling the old..

A few rare programs might wipe out any saved work, so I always suggest people get familiar with where the saved work is for backing up prior just in case.

I have a small problem with my spellcheck in outlook express 6. Everytime I have spellcheck on and when the Change To Suggestions "highlight" Jumps from the top to bottom, so if you were to click on one of the words, the thing jumps to the bottom and again and stops after a while. Other then that my outlook express seems fine, can anyone help me? I know its a small problem but I want to fix it since its just strange
