splinter cell Chaos theory

its a cd key problem, after installation, i tried to play the game, however, it asks me for my cd key before it launches (reasonable since it ddnt ask while intallation) i enter my cd key but it keeps saying that its invalid, after trying it a couple of times, i went to google some keygen made ones...surpisingly...not ....it ddnt work......i know the game is protected by starforce but i dont think theres any connection to that. right now i have the game installed(4 gigs holy crap) but unable to play it...can anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

 

It doesnt make sense why your cd key doesnt work if u bought the game...

I would return the game for a new one.

It came with a cd key so either you downloaded it off the web or you didnt get a legit version

 

They legally have to, it's not your fault.

If it doesn't work as it should, or you don't agree with the EULA, they have a legal obligation to refund your money or exchange it.


BTW, you do realise that even when you uninstall it, it will probably leave behind hidden StarForce drivers in Device Manager?

I won't buy any StarForce game, King Kong is another popular one that comes to mind....

 

No no I had the same problem. Check the 8 and the B's they look exact.

Also the install code is the only on the case. It will look like this,

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX IGNORE The Number set and the STK at the bottom.

Now there is an SC3 number on the back of the booklet you need that to get online.

 

My serial is printed right on my Cd

starforce leaves the driver in the computer???? hmm is that a bad thing?

 

Testing it on another computer is a good idea. But seriously, the store should take it back. It would be worth contacting the maker of the game as well, see if they can verify your information and email you a new key or something.

I will never buy a game with SF installed on it. Protection against piracy is a good thing but not at the expense of the consumer.

Yes, take it back.

Even if MG allowed it, why should you have to resort to using cracks for a product you purchased legally at retail level?

Good luck, but don't accept rubbish from salespeople that because it's open they can't replace or refund it. I've done it plenty of times.

 

yes!! i took it back and at first they wuddnt lemme return it so i went and saw the manager of the store. He said the guy at the counter should of taken it and instead of just giving me a refund he also gave me a 10 dollars gift card for the inconvnience WOOT, went and got another copy of Choas theory and bought my self a nice led fan!!!! total shveetness
