split/cut mp3 files

hi , recently discovered they joy of free internet mp3 streams using winamp/streamripper. only problem is cutting out any advertising annoyance i.e does anybody know of any safe freeware prog that will allow me cut the file at a specific time thanks

I use MP3 Direct Cut for that very purpose. Works great. Doesn't re-encode your mp3s, so no quality loss. Also lets you adjust the volume of your mp3s. And it's free!

thanks (pc jinks/mafwanix)gonna read up on both and decide after, jus wondering have either if ye guys heard/used/have a prog called shrink to 5 jus trying to get some helpfull feedback on it as i know it comes with whenu adware although im told this is relatively harmles,thanks again for help...

 

If you are refering to the DVD copy program called "Shrink to 5", I've read a few things about it that generally rate it poorly. Grainy output, when it even works, the need for extenal deCSS software, and compatibility problems galore. I personally have not tried using it (and probably won't).

 

good stuff jus wanted some non bias advice co prob wont go near it now,got mp3dc cheers great small prog, any ideas on an alternative dvd decoder that will perform like 'shrink to 5' but still legal,well rated and freeware, thanks for help
