Split/Reversed Icon Problem

    This is a real odd problem. My wife's XP Pro computer has several icons that have their images divided in half by a line from 12 oclock to 6 oclock and then the two halves are swapped right to left.

    A few programs have the ability to change icons entirely and that fixes some, but others do not allow that. Not all icons are affected. Her's is the only one in the house doing it.

    I have tried a number of avenues with no luck.

    Any suggestions?

    If you have TweakUI installed, one of the tabs gives you the option to rebuild corrupt icons.

    Start here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
    and scroll down until you see TweakUI. You do not have to download and install all the PowerToys; you can install just this one.
    When you click on Programs, it will be listed under PowerToys.
