Spy Sweeper 5.2 update

I recently downloaded the Spy sweeper Update 5.2. Now, my computer runs very slow and Pop Ups appear every few seconds stopping most typing in any programs.
Webroot says they can not stop the Pop Ups.

Is this a problem for anyone else?


What would be a better anti-spyware program to run if this can not be fixed?

 

Personally I went back to Spy Sweeper 4.5.9 Build 709 simply because I think the additions to SS hogs resources. The more they add the more like Norton it becomes and personally I dont want this.

What kind of popups are you talking about? Malicious pop-ups or alerts from SS?

 

Alerts from SS.

They are constant and they kill any activity.

How could I go back to the older version?

Honestly I'm not sure how you can go back, me personally I save the installation files for just about everything I install for about a year just in case something like this happens.

What are the alerts about? Sounds like you need to set your shields.

The alerts are just about what is being blocked.

The fact that computer seizes up and then runs so slow is of real concern.

How would I go about saving installation files for the next time something like this happens?

If I need to drop SS, what would be a compatible program????

Don't get me wrong Spy Sweeper is the best IMO they just need to leave it alone because all the junk they are adding to it is slowing computers down because it takes so many resources to run it.

When you buy SS from their website they give you a download link for the installation files, I save these for up to a year just because I'm a pack-rat, LOL!
