Spy ware files

I am running Ad ware v 5.0 and it will not delete two files from Cydoor.
These two files are: cd_clint.dll and cd_htm.dll and are in my system directory. I tried to manually delete them and rename them but Windows 98se will not allow me to, suggesting they are " write protected", I am sure you know about these so how so I delete them without downloading Ad ware v 6.0 which I have read has been a little buggy! I would rather wait until v6.1 or what ever because v 5.0 has been effortless!

If I am wrong about Adware 6.0 let me know .

Thanks for your heads up on Adware v6.0 I think I will get it

I also finally deleted those file buy Booting to DOS because even in a command window they could not be deleted and then I realized they were Kazaa files. Now I realize you can get Kazaa lite with no spyware and no pop up or at least lesss of them!!

If you want a confirming opinion of Ad Aware Six Oh: Yup. It works great. I installed it and like it a lot. No probs at all (now watch some huge python of a problem rear right up and spit in my eye) I reccommend it highly.

what about booting in safemode and attempting to delete the files?

 

that would work too, but if you have got the ndummy DLL file you DO NOT want to delete them, because it makes kazaa think that its lost its ad component, when it hasnt really..

I finally had to boot up into DOS and delete the files. It never occured to me to boot up in safe mode. Now I have to re load Kazaa lite or whatever without the spy ware etc.
