spyaxe infected

    I have spy axe on my computer. I have uninstalled it a couple of times, but the icon in my quick start menu is still there and every time I reboot the computer spyaxe reinstalles itself. Can any one please help me?

    Welcome to MGs.

    Please read the sticky threads. No HJT log should be posted without running the cleaning procedures. Also please do not post logs as inline text with your messages. HJT must also be installed properly.

    You should run the below (which is mentioned in our stickies):

    Smitfraud, SpySheriff, SpyAxe & PSGuard Removal

    and attach the log from SmitRem.

    Also have HJT fix all the junk from Logitech. Fix lines like below:
    O18 - Protocol: offline-8876480 - {CC3326CB-0D77-414F-B704-7541E0A20C4F} - C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\BWPlugProtocol-8876480.dll

    I am kind of new at this type of diagnostics. Should I run the smitrem again and repost.

    You did not say that you ran it in your first message. Did you run the steps as given in that link already? If so, you should have posted the smitfiles.txt log not a HijackThis log.

    While I was waiting I reran smitrem and ewido and it seemed to clean up my system. The icon in the quick start menu is now gone and the system seems to be fine. Thank you for your commets they are greatly appriciated.

    :) While I was waiting I reran smitrem and ewido and that seemed to clear up the problem. The icon that was in the quick start menu is finally gone. I really appreciate your help and comments.
