Spybot - Autorun problems

Hi. I recently installed Spybot on a Windows XP computer. I set it up to start automatically when the machine starts up, check for updates, run, and then turn off after running. Not thinking, I also set it up to check for updates, run, and then turn off after running each time the program itself is started. Now I cannot change any settings in the program as each time I start the program up it immediately starts running and then turns itself off, without giving me access to any of the settings. This happens in both advanced and simple mode. I want to change it so that it only runs automatically that first time when the machine is started up but not the other times the program is started. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the settings remain and I cannot figure out how to change them. Any ideas?

 

Did you try system restore?

 

What version spybot are you running?

 

I haven't tried a system restore. I'm used to Windows 98 and never had to do one before... So I don't actually know how to do a system restore on XP. I'm using version 1.2 of Spybot.

When you uninstall this dir has to be deleted manually:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\

But more likely it's leftover registry keys that haven't been deleted. Try downloading and running this (after uninstalling), it will remove all spybot reg stuff:
