spybot problem

Im having a problem with Spybot when ever I try to run the program it starts up and then before the window is fully avaliable it shuts down. I have already unistalled and reinstalled the program and the problem continues to still exisists. My OS is XP

I have the latest version plus all the current updates.The program continues to run showing no signs of it not responding although it appears to stop on during the bot-check on a file named "C2.LOP" WHAT IS THIS, IS IT HARMFULL, IS IT SPYWARE, HOW DO GET THIS PROGRAM TO RUN PROPERLY AGAIN. I have istalled some Microsoft updates none of which were SP1 or SP2.
