ok, first of all, whenever i try to update spybot files they never work (it says 'badcheck sums' or someting like that. Ive reinstalled it but still same problem occurs.

Also, my process manager (when i ctrl alt and del) had been looking really weird for quite some time, normally i had tabs that i could click but now it only shows up as a grey box, i have a screenshot attached.

And 1 more thing, i really need a anti virus software since i have been using norton but it hasnt been updated in years lol. Someone on here gave me a link for the whole free version (not trial) of KasperSky but accidently uninstalled it. Could anyone provide me with the same link again.

    Thanks for your help

i now found out another problem, my ad aware always stops scanning (full system scan) when its scanned 55108 objects. Ive also reinstalled and same thing happening.

The folder it stops scanning at is:
    CLSD\{06290BD3-48AA-11D2-8432-006008C3FBFC}

    For Spybot:
Try using an alternate download site or download them manually from: Spybot Search and Destroy Detection Update

For Task Manger: just double click on the outer part of the border of the window.

There is no free version of Kaspersky. We do not support any form of illegally using software that should be properly licensed. See the below thread for a few good antivirus applications that also have freeware versions:

How to Protect yourself from malware!

Try scanning with Ad-Aware in safe mode. Also uncheck the option that says "Search for Negligible risk entries. What version of Ad-Aware do you have, and what reference file version?

No mattter what antivirus application you decide to use, you should only have one installed (as indicated in the link I gave you) and since your Norton has not been updated, it is of no use to you anymore.

Did you uncheck the option that says "Search for Negligible risk entries when you ran it in safe mode?

Does it only stop when using the full system scan? What about smart system scan?

If you still have this problem, we should look for othe possible malware issues by following our standard cleaning procedures given below (do not use full system scan for Ad-Aware).

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
