Spybot found DSO Exploit: Data source object exploit (Registry change).

Spybot cannot fix, directed me to "Security.greymagic.com/adv/gm001-ie/. This is listed as "part of a malicious software,."in S&D

GM001 says no confi-tweaking workaround for this bug, it will work as long as the browser parses HTML. Only possible solution must come in the form of a patch from Microsoft. Evidently changing the correct zone's settings will prevent this exploit from running.

Anyone privy to fix/patch for this problem? I'm trying to cleanup all the crap that either I invited (ignorant) or crashed my computer party all by itself.

thanks to any who can shed some light on this for me!

If you have kept your PC up to date with Microsoft's Critical Updates, you can ignore the DSO Exploit report from SpyBot. It is a very well known bug. It's been covered here many times (sometimes daily).
Go get all of your updates for your OS (you did not tell us what it is) and then configure SpyBot to ignore DSO Exploit in its Ignore Products list.

Yes, i did. It is just my nature to need to know why i am doing sumthing; hard 4 me 2 just accept "do it" w/out a satisfactory explanation.

I have much 2 learn. Most importantly, Startup Processes ???'s and Symantec viruses/trbls.that give me no option to delete, just "skip" or "exclude". These include dialer sh_t & other that I would certainly opt to delete. ah well...research is my middle name. I shall not bother u with trivial matters.
