I am having trouble with the registry change popup box that you get
with Spybot S&D. In the newest version, the registry change box
doesn't have any kind of check box to click to o.k. your selection.
All I am able to do is x out of the box, which of course doesn't save
    the setting.
Some background on this: This happened on the 1.4 that I downloaded
from this website. It also happened to my friend who downloaded from
this website. And the same thing happened when I downloaded it
    from Spybot S&D's own website.
Each time I have installed it (around 5 tries total), I have deleted
the old install first, rebooted and then did the reinstall.
My friend runs XP home, and I run
XP Pro. The only two programs in common on our computer is
    Adaware SE Personal, and Pestpatrol.

I like spybot, but teatimer is a piece of junk. I'd recommend turning it off.

It worked fine on the previous versions of it.

Here is a thread from the official Spybot Forum. You'll see the reason (it's a bug in 1.4), a fix (page 2), and an easy workaround (type "A" to allow, "D" to deny changes, and "R" to remember the decision). Hope that answers your questions.

I couldn't disagree more with the resource hog and piece of junk comments.

I've been using it since it's inception and never had a major problem. (Admittedly I do have the same bug, but I just use the keyboard instead of the mouse, no big deal and will be fixed on the next update.)

Also, Process Explorer and Task Manager never report more CPU usuage than 1-2%, and that's on a Pentuim III!

MikeH, thanks for the answer. I did several google searches to
the problem, but the hardest thing about google of course, is
coming up with the proper search criteria.
Now I don't have to go backwards to the old 1.3.

I use multiple anti-spyware programs, and I feel safer knowing
that Spybot S&D is up and running.
