Good morning, all. I tried to run Spybot a while ago and it told me it had changed and to run malware etc programs. None would run, so I uninstalled and re-downloaded. Even though spybot is uninstalled (I can't see it) the message I get is: It already exists, would I like to install there anyway? HELP.

Have you run any malware programs to see if you mave have contracted something.
You can go here to Read and Run Me First and check on your computer.
Also How did you uninstall Spybot, did you go through add and remove or the uninstall feature under the spybot tab.
You can install this Revo Uninstaller and run it and let it look for spybot.
Lastly run Ccleaner and run the registry part (backup your registry before you make any changes) and make sure there are no left over parts of Spybot on your system. After all of this see if you can re install it.
If this doesn't help please post back and we can try something else...

    Have you run Revo.

usually if there is a instance of a program running it won't let you delete it.

Go to mscongfig and look under services tab and see if it is running. Don't do anything else in there just see if it is running in the background.

Also try to install Startup cpl once you install and run it you have to go to control panel to execute it. you can run this program and it will show you the applications that are currently running. If you find it under startup cpl disable it then close out, now goback to ad and remove program and try to delete it now

It worked thanks! Now...another problem. Can't even get online now, the hotel's internet service needs a password, every time I click on it, I get a runtime error box. Yikes! PS-I'm at work currently.

Glad I was able to help.

Now you said there is another problem,
Does the runtime error have a code with it.
Does it say anything else besides runtime error.
What are you clicking on when you get this error.
    What OS are you using
    Which browser are you using

Hey, thanks for replying. I use Win XP and IE for a browser, I like Mozilla better, but the hotel's internet doesn't like it (temporarily homeless...kinda). I accept the conditions and a page for the password comes up, I click to enter it and the Runtime Error box pops up, the words "null" and "not an object" are in the box, I click no, and I'm done...nothing, or i click yes and a page of script comes up...line 28, I forget what it says. I'm at work now, and I hope to fix it when I get back there. Would it have something to do with the Advanced settings?
