I loaded Spybot and ran it. I had the program delete the files it saw as problems. Now, I have a program trying to start at startup looking for these files. The program is called wild tangent. I know they are in a recovery area and I can restore them but I do not want the program on my computer. I can't find it to delete it. Where is it and how do I get rid of it? It does not show up under Programs. I did a search and deleted all files that showed up as wild tangent files and the program still tries to start.

Most of the WildTangent stuff (typically about 3 to 4 items) can be uninstalled from Add/Remove Programs. It is best to do it that way. If you started removing it by hand editing or using a spyware scanner, Add/Remove programs may not work because it will not be able to find everything it expects to find. To get around this your can edit the registry by hand (search for WildTangent) or you could go to there site and reinstall it. And then afterwards, use Add/Remove Programs to remove it.

Be aware, if you go back to those gaming related sites or install things like AIM, they will put WildTangent back on your computer again.
