Spyware Blaster "damaged"??

I was getting a bunch of CWS and other crap through all of a sudden (the Adaware removed all of them when I ran it), so I checked the Spyware Blaster to see if it was working correctly. Nope! I get a message saying it has been damaged...possibly by a hard drive problem or virus. I tried reloading it and still get the same message. I have no other problems, but I have used the CyberScrub program a few times since I installed the Spyware Blaster. Could the CyberScrub have wiped something away that was necessary for the Spyware Blaster? Has Spyware Blaster been corrupted so it cannot be used even after a new download and install?

Please do not post the same request more than once! I deleted your duplicate post.

Did you uninstall SpywareBlaster first before trying to reinstall?
What version are you trying to install and run?
Did you download it from MG's: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

I just reloaded but I think the one from this site rejected and I used the one labeled "bet"???? ...or something like that. I did the uninstall first.

Sorry about the double post...I didn't think the first was accepted. It's 3.1

I just tried the uninstall and reload again. Same message. It won't run. I even shut off my ZA to let it run through just in case.

I have CWShredder v1.59 installed, and have run it several times showing all clear. I think I may have even run it showing nothing and then the Adaware picked up all the CWS crap in my registry. I did have a few browser hijacks in the past couple of days, but they disappeared after I ran the programs. BUT...the Spyware Blaster was doinf that job until a few days ago. I did get some Virus notifications from Norton, but that's common. Most get fixed, but some do give me the "unable to repair" message. I always delete the infected backup files that Norton creates, and then wipe them completely away.

I notice there has been a buildup of the bad stuff in my Adaware quarantine file. Is there any reason I can't also delete all of this junk too?

You can delete the stuff from the Ad-aware folder as long as you are sure that you will not need any of it. It is there for backup purposes just incase something you really need gets removes.

You should try booting in safe mode and running a scan with SpyBot and the a full scan with Ad-aware. Here is how to set Ad-aware to do a full scan: http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/fullscan/index.html

    Did you try CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller?

Perhaps if still necessary after the above you should download HijaakThis (latest release) from here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
and post the full log. Make sure you shutdown ALL applications before running HijaakThis.

I just reloaded the version 1.59.1 and the killer, but they end up in my ACD Zip file (for pictures) and I can't get either of them to open. How do I gat them where I can open them and get my desktop icon back??

Use Windows explorer and move them to their own directory. For example you could create a new folder called, c:\spyware-tools and put both of them in that directory.
Then you need to unzip them into that new folder.

If you want to have a desktop shortcut to them, from Windows Explorer right click on the executable file (like CWShredder.exe) and drag and drop to your desktop. When you let go of the right mouse button select "Create Shortcut Here"

You should also think about putting HijaakThis in this directory too.

Nice find Alan. This is the same procedure I have been using in many threads here to fix about:blank problems.

Mishalah, never gave an OS nor said anything about ever having any about:blank or other hijack issues.

Check out those links Mishalah. And what OS do you have?
