Spyware Doctor Installation Problems

Sorry if this is the wrong area - it's my first time here. Please feel free to move this to a correct area, if necessary.

I'm trying to install Spyware Doctor 4.0, but it gets the following error during installation - see attachment for screenshot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed Spyware Doctor as well. It is probably conflicting with something else.
It reports an infection (a *jpg? ) but will not close the screen, the program, or allow me to register now, or register later.
I also cannot End Task using the Windows task manager. Bazza

a) Only had ZoneAlarm running - even uninstalled it and it doesn't work.

b) I am using only one user account and it has admin authority.

So now what?

Well, actually, I finally got it installed by hitting IGNORE about 10 times. I saw on some other forum that someone had the same exact problem, and that's how they got around it. It's working fine for me now, and am I glad - this software is finding stuff that no other spyware software I used found - and I have used a lot!

Spyware doctor is a paid product. As in, it requires one to pay for the removal of the issues. It will "find" problems. But you must pay to get rid of issues.

Unless I'm wrong, that is....

You are absolutely right about Spyware Doctor. But that fact has nothing to do with the installation problems I experienced. Working fine after ignoring all those "Errorcreateregkey ex failed code=5" problems.

 

Is this the only program you installed that had these issues?

As in registry issues?

 

Forget Spyware Doctor at least as far as I am concerned. I don't need that aggravation.
I tried and it's now gone.

Try Advanced WindowsCare v2 Personal 2.0.1.644
Free as well, and it fixes what it finds.

Plus you have to pay for the thing to remove what it finds. Bah!

But, this doesn't resolve the individuals issue, just a mere work-a-round.

Very similar to, if IE isn't working, why not use an alternative browser.

Sometimes the workaround is better than the cure, IMHO.
We have enough problems keeping our PC's in tip-top, safe, condition without any
aggravation, when there are other alternatives available. Bazza
