    Hi

In the few days before I discovered Major Geeks I downloaded, and paid for, Spyware Doctor (PC Tools) as I had various malware at the time.

I don't really think it helped compared to the Major Geeks help which was superb:) but I have left it running.

To speed my pc start up and performance I decided to change the Spyware Doctor settings to NOT run on windows start up and then deactivated OnGuard which is also in the Spyware Doctor settings.

Now whenever I go to Microsoft Internet Explorer to surf I get a Spyware Doctor window appear mid screen and it just sits there as the program is starting up which takes nearly 2 minutes.

I have tried the System Utility Function in XP via start-run-msconfig and then Services tab and unticked PC Tools Spyware Doctor. Also the Startup tab but there is no obvious Spyware Doctor box there.

I do not want to uninstall PC Tools Spyware Doctor in case I need it in the future (I have paid for it!) but it all worked better without me interfering with it. I want my pc to be a little faster at start up and with less delay in starting IE6.

 Can I use Spyware Doctor on an "as and when" basis or is it all or nothing?

Maybe I should put everything back as it was?

Cheers for any help but I notice not many users seem to mention this software in the forums?

Make sure Spyware Doctor is updated. It shouldn't interfere with IEl.

Try uninstalling, reboot, run CCleaner, reboot, then reinstall. During install uncheck onguard/etc. options.
