Spyware Infection - Help!

Hiya,

Just wondering if anyone can help me...i've some sort of virus on my home pc which means i can't access the internet - if i try to go to a website i'm told "access blocked, your pc has been infected with a spyware/adware virus"

i've run a mcafee anti-virus prog. which has found hundreds of infected files but despite all its cleaning/deleting/quarantining, it hasn't helped.

Yesterday i tried to follow the instructions on - http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

It was all going well until Step 4 where i have to download the tools - the virus won't allow me onto the internet so i can't download any of the tools.

So i'm now at my office pc looking for help!

Any suggestions/advice very welcome,

as you have internet access ther can you download the tools there to a cd and transfer them home and run them
