Any good manual spyware scanners to check a couple of suspicious files in one of my folders? Thanks

I believe everyone panned it when it was introduced ....correct me if my memory isn't working, but I'm sure I ran it and is didn't do squat.

    HI!
I use A2 Squared FREE and it's good at finding malware files. It can scan any file you choose by right clicking the file and choosing 'Scan with A2 Squared' which is added to your right click menu.
You might also try uploading the files to Jotti's: http://virusscan.jotti.org/
It might pick it up, though Jotti's is virus scanners and they're often quite busy.

Lavasofts Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy are arguably 2 of the most highly regarded and recommened programs out there:

You will find both on this page, second and third entries. Have a look at the other software on there all Freeware.

I agree that Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D are great antispyware apps, but they won't scan single files and I assume that's what you were looking for.
Spyware Blaster is NOT a scanner...it's preventative protection.
    I think you'll be pleased with A-Squared. It's freeware.
