SpywareBlaster probs

    Just a note.... went to update SpywareBlaster and noticed in the Restricted sites that 15 entries had been altered so as the protection had been removed.

    Several of these were CoolWebsearch variations and a couple were Lop, along with 20x2p dialer.

    Updating sorted this but it'd be nice to know what turned off the protection on these items, so thought id post a warning about it just in case anyone else has same problem, and as a future ref for people to keep an eye out for :)

    Cheers for the headsup Alistair, soon as I saw your thread I opened SWB didnt see any unblocked ones.. downloaded and enabled the updates, still no unblocked ones.... so I dunno what could have turned them off TBH.


    did on a side note notice that when I updated firefox yesterday that its blocked sites ( 209 ) have been unblocked... so worth noting if you update FF check SWB's blocked sites are re-enabled.

    When you say Firefox updates you mean the security updates? Or browser updates?

    One thing thats a tad annoying on FF is that, as far as i know, i cant manually add sites which i want to be restricted. Is this me being dense, or is the feature just not there? I had an anoying redirect which would have been easier to ignore if i could have just stopped the site from coming up in the first place, on the grounds that other users of this pc couldnt accidently click on something, before id gotten around to solving the problem lol

    Just spied Solanges post so off to investigate the 209 unchecked lol better safe than sorry :)

    The complete browser update.

    Yeah... Solange I remember that thread and thought .. Uh O ... but once enabled on further running of SWB they say enabled.

    Thanks for the info. AliWiseman. Checked mine, and they are all still ticked, but will now certainly keep an eye on this area in SWB.:)
