Absolutely. Been using it for years, it adds another layer of anti-malware protection by disabling active-x based toolbars, dialers, hijackers and the like.

 

It's also a program that doesn't need to be running while it's protecting. You just run the app, tell it which protections you want it to perform (blocking active-X, shutting down Flash, blocking malicious sites, etc) then you shut it down and you're done. So, no problems with the app not playing nice with AV/antimalware apps.

 

I've been using Spyware Blaster for years myself. I'm using the freeware version which requires manual periodic updates but, that takes about 2 minutes. Then you just enable all protections, Currently there are over 17,000 items in it's database.

 

I'll support every comment made here. I've used the program for a good many years and highly suggest it be in everyone's malware armory. Good software.

I am one of those with 3 browsers.
I just reinstalled 8.1 with the 8.1 disc then verified with my 8 key and have imaged to 2 HDDs.
Before imaging and after all the work I wanted to get a consensus because I had one fellow in another forum say he did not trust it.
He is out-voted by far.
