SSD Drive Problems Please help

ok got a nice new intel 335 series 240gb SSD drive to use as my main boot drive installed fresh windows 7 64bit, but its showing in device manager as SCSI/Disk… not IDE\DiskINTEL … i contacted intel and they say its down to the marvell driver? ( no idea what that is ) or its down to the chipset drivers,

well i have the most upto date chipset drivers and most upto date Bio for my mainboard ( see below for system spk's )

tryed using the Intel toolbox but that wont work as it cant comminicate with the SSD drive becase its showsing as SCSI/dick not the IDE\DiskINTEL … please can anyone help me.

Windows 7 64bit home prem
Main board (Asus Rampage 3 Extreme X58(ICH10R) / bios 1502 )
Intel core i7 970
Corsair DDR3 3x 2048MB
Nvidia GeForce GTX 580

am totaly new to SSD drives i can boot up on and use teh SSD drive works ok nice and fast lightning fast infact, but windows just cant see it as IDE\DiskINTEL.

please can anyone help am totaly lost

 

Check in your bios to see if your sata mode is set to ide or ahci? Dont change this just report back with its current setting.

 

You have a choice of SATA connections on that 'board, hook up your SSD to one of the grey SATA sockets:

Intel® ICH10R controller :
6 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), gray
Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10

JMicron® JMB363 controller :
1 x eSATA 3Gb/s port(s), green
1 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black

Marvell® PCIe 9128 controller : *2
2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), red
