Start > Search > Viruses...

Hey, at my office this morning, one of the servers was down, and after a bunch of troubleshooting, I'm logged in the the system, to find theings really messed up... there is a network connection, but we can't get on the net, can't get access to the control panel, the windows activity spinnging thing is spinning like 10x faster than normal, tried to install anti-virus software and it went not responding. To top it all of, in the Start > Search dropdown, there is an option for "Viruses..." Anyone ever heard of something like this?? Help!

Something is very wrong. Start with this:

Download the following two files, create a folder on your desktop, and call it TSC. Save these 2 files there.

Sysclean Package

Pattern.zip

Unzip Pattern.zip, then delete the zip file.

Once you have these downloaded into the folder you just created, REBOOT INTO SAFE MODE!

Once in Safe Mode, double click the file sysclean.com; when system cleaner loads, click SCAN to start the scanner.

Then follow the instructions in this thread:

Then post back in the Spyware Specific Forum if anything is found that cannot be cleaned.
