I recently installed Windows XP on my computer, fortunately to a new drive.
I installed the latest version of MBM 5 and allowed the wizard to set it up and when I try boot, I get a "non system disk error or disk error message" It says replace and press any key when ready. My AOPEN AK 77 board worked ok with win2k and an earlier version so I figured I'd be OK with this. Apparently not LOL
    Am I screwed on that?
Fortunately, as I said above, I can still access my win2k pro installation by changing the settings in bios. Or else I'd be finding some other way to access the forums.
Basically, I suppose I need some help figuring out how to undo the damage, when I can't get to the installation. If possible, by using the recovery console since my restore disc isn't able to help me.
A format and reinstall is not something I really want to do IF I can avoid it.
    Thanks in advance
    Tim

Now I feel really st00pid, because I fixed the problem and can't figure out how to edit my own post. Hence, the double posting.
A chkdsk /r took care of whatever it was that was causing the boot error.
