Hi I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips, clues or just general advice on what to do with my start up/inability to boot OS problem. I will try and provide as much information as i can to help you all understand my problem.

Ok yesterday i was online and managed to get myself some kind of virus/trojan etc i believe it was just the b.exe trojan. i thought i had cleaned up my laptop with hijack this (i do not remember which files i removed but assessed the log online)
I then turned off my laptop, on turning it back on it would run to the windows xp screen, and after this it would blue screen. i preformed the disable automatic restart on system failure to view the error which was:

    *** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x86EBB4C9, 0xF7AB8C4C, 0xF7AB8948)

I then tried to run my laptop in safe mode. ending up with
    multi (0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\Mup.sys
as the final line of the many system drivers.

I tried to do a repair using my toshiba disk, and realised unless i wish to wipe my whole HD then i would have to use another OS disk. I used another Windows XP OS disk and proceeded onwards to repair.
The choice of repair was not present only a choice of selecting which partition (i.e. one partition as cant select the 8MB unpartitioned section). On selecting this twice getting files copied and computer restarting i realised i was possibly further partitioning my laptop and adding more than one OS system, actually three OS systems, but all being exactly the same! (though two not fully installed)

    I tried to perform chkdisk
    and got:
default in index of $I30 of file 76283 and some files deleted e.g. default.log.

then sweet nothing and the same loop of xp screen, blue screen, reset. or changing to the other OS systems and the laptop trying to install XP for the second and third time.

Further information which may be helpful?
My laptop is a Toshiba A100 satellite pro, running windows XP (i think SP2),
and this comes up on start up occasionally:

    Phoenix trustedcoreā„¢ NB
    Bios 1/50
    Intel Calistoga +ICH7-M Mother board
    CPU= 1 Processors dectected cores per processor= 2
    Genuine intelĀ® cpu T2300 @1.66Ghz

    1023 System RAM Passed
    2048 Cache SRAM passed
    System BIOS shadowed
    Video BIOS shadowed
Fixed Disk 0: Fujitsu MHV2060BH PL
    ATAPI CD-ROM: MATSHITADVD- RAM UJ-841S
    Mouse initialised
Warning: System CMOS checksum bad- default configuration used

Thank you for anyones help, and time it is much appreciated
