    Hellooooooooooo

What you may need to do is to enter the PC Bios ( not as scary as it sounds ) and look at the boot order for the devices, I have a feeling the PC builders have left Network in the boot list, where as it should really only be these and in this order generally, so it one of yours has Network listed diable it, but set the devices as below.

1st Boot Device: Hard Disk Drive
    2nd Boot Device: CDROM
    3rd Boot Device: Floppy Drive*
    4th Boot Device: Disabled

*if you have no floppy drive set 3rd Boot Device as Disabled too ( note: some Bioses may or many not have a 3rd and 4th Boot Device )

Now getting into your Bios is the trick as it's dependent on the Bios to what key you hit, generally on bootup time it will tell you what key/s it is right at the very beginning when you see some text on black screen.

Common ways to enter the Bios are F1, F2, DEL keys.

If in the top left corner at boot time it says "press any key to boot from CD" this is a normal thing and if you leave it XP should continue to boot in a few seconds, this setting of having boot from CD higher up the boot list or at th etop is incase you are installing Windows or an Operating system again,

but if its Boot from CD or the network message are first up then odds are it's the boot order than needs changing to as I mentioned earlier.

hi halo, this is sods law, i have'nt yet entered the bios, because fingers crossed my pc hasnt done a click off yet, and i don't want to interfere with it while it's going ok, if and when it does it again, then i will follow your instructions to the letter, i have written it down, so i have it at hand, thanks again for your help, much appreciated, juicy
