I recently bought a new corsair 800D case for my computer. I've also bought corsair dominater 8GB ram and a 760I big water cooling kit for my I7-920 processor. After moving all my parts from my previous case into the new one, I went to turn it on and it would start to boot for 5-7 seconds then shut off. NO post beeps at all. It will auto reboot into bios. I have no idea what it would be. Also, One of my hard drive caught fire and started to smoke inside my case. That's a new experience for me. NO fire damage to anything else. Toke it out very quickly. Here is a list of things I've ruled out. Maybe you can give some advice!

-Made sure I had the MB on risers (lifts from the case)
-Check every stick of ram (The ram is showing up in the bios as the correct speed and amount
-Reapplied thermal paste to the processor (Thought it might just be over heating)
-Taken out the Cmos battery to reset it
-Toke the MB out of the case and started it up to see if it was shorting
-Toke out all my video cards from the PCI-E slots to see if they was causing a problem
-Removed my processor and made sure it was seated right
-Unplugged and replugged all power cables onto the motherboard (I have my 24 pin and 8 pin power plugs in )
-Tried multiple outlets to make sure I had a steady power supply.
-I have a 1000W power supply so I know I am not under power min.
-All my ram was reseated correctly
-Im only hooking up 1 hard drive that has the OS on it.

That's about all I've done. Any suggestions or automatic fix's !!! Thanks in advance.

    Greetings, Pappy3223.

BIOS is seeing the hard drive correctly? Any way you can connect the HD to another computer to verify that it was not damaged when the other drive smoked? You might also want to temporarily bypass the water cooling unit during troubleshooting (if you haven't already done so).

And, what OS version and Service Pack # are you attempting to load?

The bios is seeing the hard drives. And I am attempting to load Windows 7 Ult. It won't get to the point of me installing an OS.

Again, I'd suggest trying the drive in another machine to verify its integrity.

You might even consider burning and booting to a live Linux distro or a diagnostics disk to ensure that the motherboard is functioning correctly.

The fact that something smoked another drive leads me to believe that further damage could have occurred, both to the drive in question and possibly to the motherboard.

Ok, I put the drive into another machine and it was fine. I am currently downloading a linux distro and i'll let you know how that goes.
